Purchasing carpet can be a very confusing experience if you do not understand the types of carpet available.   We have listed below some of the most popular types of carpeting and their general uses.  We hope that this will make easier your carpeting experience, because we believe that an educated consumer makes a happier customer. 

  • Types of Plush

     

    • Textured
      • Textured surface which helps hide footprints ,vacuum marks and lint.
      • Most popular style for the busy households.
      • Versatile carpet that can be used in the whole house.
      • Generally

       

    • Saxony
      • Luxuriously smooth soft finish and adds distinctive elegance to any room.

      • Ideal for living and dinning rooms.

      • Normally

       

  • Types of Berbers

     

    • Loop-Pile

      • A looped over yarn that provides a rugged surface that tends to hide footprints and vacuum marks.

      • Provides a more contemporary look,  widely used in family, game rooms & basements.

      • Hides lint and looks great in between vacuuming       

      • Generally comes in 3 different fibers and blends, wool (most expensive), nylon, olefin (most common), or a nylon olefin blend. 

       

    • Cut-Pile

      • Similar to a plush carpet but tends to have a thicker softer feel.

      • Flecks of color to help hide soiling that occurs between cleanings.

      • Usually manufactured with a nylon fiber.

       

  • Commercial

    • Mostly a low loop, cut or cut/loop combination pile.

    • Designed for commercial applications where a heavy traffic carpet in needed.

    • Wide verity of patterns & colors to suit most commercial or professional atmospheres.

    • Olefin, nylon and blends of each  are the most common fibers use in common commercial carpeting. High end wools are also available.
